Paris Beauvais Airport since its beginnings

Beauvais Tillé airport also called Paris Beauvais airport was built in 1930 and opened in 1937. Improved by the Germans during the Second World War, it was then used by the Allies. In 1955, it opened to commercial traffic, then experienced a surge in popularity in 1997 thanks to Ryanair and its Beauvais - Dublin route. In 2008, Beauvais Airport adopted a new management policy and a significant budget was invested to modernize the facility and provide a better experience for travelers.

What about today?

Currently, Paris-Beauvais airport is the 10th largest French airport in terms of annual passenger volume, with approximately 3.8 million passengers.

Although it is not always popular with travelers, it is regularly cited as the most punctual airport in the world. Finally, in a bid to constantly improve, Beauvais Airport has chosen to pursue its efforts in terms of sustainable development. The airport platform has implemented several environmental actions: 100% electric power supply for aircraft in transit and replacement of current runway vehicles (diesel) with electric vehicles, for example.

How do I book a Beauvais airport cab?

Unlike the two main Paris airports, Orly and Roissy-Charles-de-Gaulle, Beauvais airport is not served by public transport. To get there from Paris, several solutions are available to you:

  • The car: if it is the most appreciated solution, it is not the most profitable. Indeed, if you have to count on average 1 hour and 20 minutes of driving depending on the time and the traffic, the main problem is the gasoline (its price more precisely) and the parking. Two solutions are possible: leave your car at the airport parking lot with variable prices depending on the length of your stay or park your car in an outside parking lot, which is more economical.
  • The Paris-Beauvais shuttle: direct and relatively cheap (16 € one way for an adult), they have a specific operation. Indeed, each flight is assigned a shuttle, which starts 3 hours 15 minutes before the plane takes off. These shuttles run regularly between Beauvais airport and the Pershing parking lot, near Porte-Maillot. The trip takes approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes.

  • The TER: you can also take the regional express train at the Gare du Nord. The journey takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes and the cheapest tickets cost 10 €, but do not include the journey from Beauvais station to Beauvais airport.

  • Cabs: although this is not the most economical solution, it is still the most comfortable, safe and serene. When you land, you can take advantage of a 24-hour, multi-destination cab service from Beauvais airport. Opting for a VTC company is the guarantee that an experienced driver will be waiting for you when you get off the plane or will pick you up at your home to take you to the airport gate. You can enjoy a trip alone, without stress or agitation, with your luggage safely stored in the trunk of the vehicle.
